Friends and Family

If one of your family or friends is suffering from SAD there are several things you can do:

  • Try to accept that they are feeling low - being hostile or teasing them may make them feel worse. Having SAD is similar to any other potentially serious medical condition.
  • Offer practical help if you can. As soon as you notice signs of lethargy encourage them to start treatment and to stick with it.
  • Help them to pace themselves and try not to make too many demands on their time.
